Writing this week off

Ow. Crap. Sinuses utterly fubarred. Wingstubs hurting. I think it might be best to write this week off as a loss.

Saw The Abominable Dr. Philbes for the first time yesterday. fosteronfilm was astonished I'd never seen it before. I was not nearly as impressed by it as Matthew is. I'm thinking the rose-colored veneer of childhood delight have colored his perceptions. Sure it was surreal and wacky, but it didn't work for me overall. I did like the flying fox bats and the cute, plump rats, but since they were supposed to be perpetrators of horrific death, I don't think I was supposed to go "Awww! Wuzzy widdle cuteness, squee!"

10 min/day
Yoga and ballet, and a few belly dance isolations to start toning my abs. Actually seeing a bit of an improvement already in flexibility.

Writing Stuff

Received a 25-day "a rich tale, but . . . " from Flesh & Blood with invite to submit again.

New Words: 100 on the short story and called it a day. Feeling too crappy to write.

Dr. Phibes films havent aged all that well, though a film of Vincent Price reading the phone book would def rock no matter what...

Matt ought to get you Theatre of Blood, a similar feature VP made around the same time as Phibes in which he's a Shakespearean actor who uses the Bard's plays to murder and get revenge on the theatre critics who trashed his performances...bit dated as well, but you might get some personal catharsis out of it...

Eugie, you seem to always have sinus issues. Are you staying away from milk and cheese. You should also try to get in as much water and green leafy vegetables as possible. I hope you get better soon.

Matthew and I are both vegetarians, so I'm pretty sure I'm getting enough green, leafy vegetables. I don't think what I'm eating is the root cause of my sinus woes. The atmospheric changes affect me pretty strongly in Georgia--affect both Matthew and me, actually. When the pressure equalizes, my headaches tend to dissipate. Unfortunately, there's been some freaky weather this Spring. Been popping Sudafed like candy.
